A note from Tamara:

My love for making Jewish enrichment relatable and accessible to others started in 1989 when I became one of the first Rel/Ed VPs in my new USY chapter. I can now see how my first Fall Retreat regional convention in 1990, when I was in grade 9, set the course for a career that included decades of recreating the ruach, spiritual meaning, and Jewish relevance for hundreds of USYers and CHAT students. Through my own USY experiences as a teen, I found meaning in rituals, customs and traditions through peer-led experiences. My proudest accomplishment is the number of former USY, Nativ, and student connections that have evolved into adult friendships.

The peer leadership and peer education models ultimately inspired my professional journey as an experiential Jewish educator and engagement strategist. After 18 years of intrapreneurship and driving change from within Jewish organizations, I founded CORIPHERY Holistic Consulting Solutions 4 years ago. CORIPHERY is a social impact consulting company that supports local, national and global organizations with change strategy, program optimization, facilitation and mentorship/coaching. That my professional trajectory began in my most early days of USY is something that remains very special to me, and further confirms how significant and transformative USY was in shaping my identity and the person I’ve become.
