From the President

“Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away.”

Ruach. In Hebrew, it means “spirit.” In USY, it means much more.

Ruach is everything from singing your heart out on the bus on USY on Wheels or on USY Israel Pilgrimage to 800 teens wildly jumping and dancing at Opening Session at International Convention. Ruach is our deep sense of sheer joy in celebrating our Judaism. It is our excitement to live Jewish lives.

As I look toward the future of USY, I see friends laughing, a community dancing, and an organization singing. I see engaging programming, lasting friendships, and inspired Jewish teens. But most of all, I see ruach. USY, join me in making this year a breathtaking one.
