Shalom USY!
My Name is Penina Berger and I am so excited to be serving on this year’s International board! I am currently Pinwheel Regans convention chair on RGB and I have held many positions on the Richmond Or Chadash chapter board. I have loved being a part of USY since 8th grade and I am so excited to share it all with you.
I am in 11th grade from Vancouver, Canada and a member of congregation Beth Tikvah. I love Israeli dancing as it allows me to be a part of my community in a unique way. In school, my favourite subject is Physics.
As a USY teen my favourite part has been going to conventions and being able to spend shabbat with so many teens across North America. My favourite part of every convention has to be sloach as it is such an impactful experience to be surrounded by so much נשמה (soul/ spirit).
Other than USY, I love spending time with friends and family, dancing, listening to music, painting, going on hikes, and spending time at Camp Solomon Schecter.
USY has always been a place where I got to be jewish in a space with so many jewish teens my age, and I am so happy that USY can be that space for so many others.
