This session will focus on the world of entertainment. Here’s a little bit about our featured speakers!
David Levy is the Member Education Manager for Actors’ Equity Association, the national labor union representing professional actors and stage managers in live theatre. He is also a freelance writer, a producer and panelist on the Maxamoo: Theatre & Performance podcast, and an editor of Jewschool.com. He holds a bachelor’s degree in English & American Literature and Languages from Harvard and master’s degrees in Jewish Studies and Jewish Education from Hebrew College. In USY, David was a NERUSY Chapter Rel/Ed VP, Chapter President, Regional Communications VP, Regional President, Chapter Youth Director, and Rosh of two Wheels buses.
Rami Rank is currently a producer on Amazon’s award-winning series “Goliath” starring Billy Bob Thornton. Over the course of his sixteen-year career, Rami has worked on hit shows such as “Dexter” and also worked for Universal Studios where he helped managed the Backlot and Stages as well as ran their Virtual Production Business. Rami holds a bachelor’s degree from Boston University in Film and Television Production and an MBA from Arizona State, but he contends that the best prep he had for the film business was his time in USY. Rami is a proud former Hagalil Regional President and was on the Israel Affairs Committee on IGB.
Alison Heather (Silverman) Wolin is an experienced social and digital media expert in the entertainment community who has collaborated with top actors, athletes, models and musicians to build expansive social media profiles. She is known for her for creative growth strategies, and executing all varieties of campaigns for her clients. Having worked on launching TV shows, books, films, award show campaigns, charity fundraising and brand endorsements, she’s learned and strategized with the best in the business. Alison was on chapter board and served as NERUSY Regional Rel/Ed VP for two years. She went on Wheels, Pilgrimage, and Nativ. Her parents often talk about how she was literally the poster child for the conservative movement when JTS/List college asked her to be in their marketing campaign. Alison counts her USY crew as some of her closest friends in the world and feels forever indebted to the incredible opportunities she experienced with USY.
