USYers for a Drug and Alcohol Free Environment
Did you know that in 2003 there were 2,283 teen alcohol related fatalities?
As teens we often find ourselves in uncompromising positions concerning peer pressure, drugs, and/or alcohol. Have you waited your whole life for USY to do something about this? Well don't fret because we've got just what the Rabbi ordered!
USY, we are proud to present to you UDAFE an acronym that stands for: USYers
for a Drug and Alcohol Free Environment. This group primarily stands as a support
service for USYers. Along with providing an environment for support, UDAFE also
introduces us to the many forms and strengths of a little two-letter word "NO!"
This is a statement, which teenagers use on a daily basis but not frequently
enough when confronted with the issue of drugs, alcohol, and/or other teenage
pressures.
By no means do we want to tell you what to believe, or how to believe it;
we just hope to provide you with moral support in dealing with these imperative
situations.
SO NOW YOU ARE READY TO JOIN!!!
Joining UDAFE is very simple and only requires a little on your part. All
we ask of you is to make the following pledge, and then fill
out this form.
Pledge: I pledge to do my best to overcome destructive decisions and guide
others towards the same path. As a member of this club, I pledge to try with
all of my might to refrain from the illegal use of drugs and/or alcohol. I will
try my best to stop others from doing this as well. I am taking a stand as a
teen, a USYer, and a Jew to help stop my peers from doing harm to themselves
and others by abusing drugs and/or alcohol.
