SA/TO By Month
Program Ideas: October

Programs:

  1. Bring in a guest speaker, whether it is someone who has conducted studies and is an expert on domestic violence, or someone who has fallen victim to it, to speak about what they know and their experiences.
  2. Run a program on what a "healthy relationship" should be like.
  3. Contact your local police station and ask them if they can send a representative to talk about domestic abuse and how it is a federal crime.
  4. Skits – Do role playing to help raise awareness of what a dangerous relationship may look like, something that in all cases of domestic violence was the root of it.
  5. Watch a Lifetime Movie Special or other movie that touches on this topic.
  6. Read personal accounts of victims both male and female and show that it happens to both genders not just women and discuss ways around it and what to do about it.
  7. Volunteer at a battered women's shelter.
