B4: Jerusalem Council for Children & Youth
The Jerusalem Counsel for Children & Youth is "an advocate, lobby and project initiator on issues related to health, social and education well-being of Jerusalem's children." The JCCY works to coordinate and collaborate with other groups working on similar issues to minimize overlap and to make the most of scarce resources available. It focuses on weaker parts of the population, which the government and municipal agencies do not sufficiently care for, exposing gaps and weaknesses in the systems. Past programs have included Kesher, an Information, Guidance and Counseling Center for Parents of Children with Special Needs, day camp subsidies for children from single-parent homes, and brochures on child safety in the home.
If you believe in taking care of the parts of the forgotten parts of society, and you value resourcefulness with resources, consider allocating your TO funds to the Jerusalem Counsel for Children & Youth.
