Allocations Awareness

F4: GJARN
The Global Jewish Assistance & Relief Network (GJARN) does some amazing work in the needy Jewish communities in the Former Soviet Union, especially Russia and the Ukraine. Established in 1992, they provide immediate relief and long-term solutions for these people, who have no nearby family to care for them, who live below the poverty level in their country, and especially those in remote places, where transportation is difficult, aid is scarce or non-existent.

GJARN has carried out humanitarian distributions, set up an assisted living facility and an American Jewish Medical Center in the Ukraine, and distributed free medication, in addition to helping to renew Jewish life. USY's contribution goes towards the purchase of Mezuzot to be distributed to Jewish families in the FSU.

If the idea of klal yisrael is important to you, allocating to GJARN is a fabulous way to make an impact internationally [and not just USY-style international!]
