F8: Jewish Foundation for the Righteous
The mission of Jewish Foundation for the Righteous is to support gentiles who risked their lives to save Jews during the Holocaust and are now in financial need, and to preserve their legacy by sharing their stories with high school and middle school teachers and students. Rescuers are referred by Yad Vashem, by the Jewish survivors they saved or by other rescuers and receive funds three times a year. The JFR supports rescuers in 27 countries, mostly in Eastern Europe, with the most in Poland. The JFR website explains, "The Jewish Foundation for the Righteous was established to fulfill the traditional Jewish commitment to hakarat hatov, the searching out and recognition of goodness."
The JFR is making karma work – taking care of those who took care of ours. If JFR's work is importance to you, consider allocating your TO funds to their work.
