Allocations Awareness
B2: Chai Lifeline/Camp Simcha
Chai Lifeline is an organization that helps Jewish families that suffer directly
or indirectly from pediatric illnesses within their family. Through its programming,
Chai Lifeline assists all members of the family in coping with the illness.
These programs include, but are not limited to social programs, recreational
programs, psychosocial programs, educational programs, and financial reimbursements.
The money that USY allocates to Chai Lifeline provides assistance to its Camp Simcha and Camp Simcha Special. These are the only kosher camps in the world for children with cancer and other life-threatening illnesses (close to 25 different ones) where hundreds of children attend from all parts of the United States and the world to experience a true summer experience under the watchful eyes of medical doctors, nurses, and a caring staff. Such circumstances allow these children to feel like normal children once more.
If you've ever witnessed the effect that a child with a life-threatening illness can have an entire family, you should look into Chai Lifeline. If your chapter allocates money to Chai Lifeline, you can personally help these families get through these difficult times in their lives.
