International Heschel Honor Society Kinnus

Dear Heschel Honor Society Member:

The International Heschel Honor Society Kinnus is just around the corner! We are very excited about the weekend, as it allows the opportunity for in-depth study and programs beyond those offered in a normal chapter, regional or international Shabbaton. Here are the basic details:

  • Where: Temple Israel, Albany, NY
  • When: April 5-7, 2013
  • Who: members of the Heschel Honor Society

To register for the weekend, please complete the online form. Please do not forget to mail your registration fee of $125. You will not be officially registered until we have received payment. You must be a current Heschel Honor Society member to attend — click here to join the Heschel Honor Society or click here to recertify. All forms must be complete, with all e-signatures, payment, and information. Attendance at the weekend is limited, and will be on a first-come, first-served basis. Please do not make any travel arrangements unless you have received email confirmation that you have been accepted to attend the Kinnus.

 

*NEW* FOR 2013 – California Kosher!

A West Coast Heschel Kinnus will take place simultaneously for Pinwheel, New Frontier and Far West USY at Adat Ari El in Valley Village, CA. These three regions have the option of attending either convention; however, travel subsidy will be subsidized for the lower airfare amount (see application for. Applications for the West Coast Heschel Kinnus are available at www.fwusy.net.

 

TRAVEL INFORMATION

PLEASE CAREFULLY READ THE TRAVEL GUIDELINES

  • Those who will be flying in for the Kinnus should fly into Albany International Airport (ALB).
    • Please plan your Friday flights to arrive between 8:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.
    • Please plan your Sunday flights to depart no earlier than 3:30 p.m.
  • Those arriving by train OR Megabus should arrive at the Rensselaer-Albany Amtrak Station. The Megabus arrives at the AMTRAK station.

Once we know everyone’s travel plans, we will work out transportation to the hosting synagogue, which will be shared with you in a confirmation mailing approximately one week before the Kinnus. Additionally, please come equipped with a bag lunch or enough food to tie your over, as we will only be providing nosh on Friday.

FLIGHTS MUST BE BOOKED BY MARCH 25, 2013 TO RECEIVE A TRAVEL SUBSIDY.
