2007 USY Chapter of the Year nominees
New Frontier
- USY Shabbat – USYers headlined Shabbat services, leading Shacharit, Torah Service, and Musaf, leyning about half of the morning's aliyot, and giving the drash in a special highlight.
- Ransom the Rabbi – A Purim eve kidnap of the rabbi that brought in $600 for TO.
- Hanukkah Plates – Plates of home baking, fruit, nuts, chocolates, dreidels, and more brought in over $700.
- Progressive Dinner – A five-course dinner with a program designed by each board member, complete with transporation in a Hummer limousine.
- Poker Night – Hold 'em for SA/TO, Finding Nemo, and food accompanied writing cards to Israeli soldiers.
- Lag Ba'Omer Bonfire – A bonfire on the beach with S'mores, talking, and discussion about Jewish identity.
- Great America – Kadima joined USY for an awesome day at the theme park, featuring a Rel/Ed scavenger hunt.
- Movie at Metreon – Light dinner and an excellent film, The Illusionist.
- Mel's Diner and Ice Skating – Popular dinner at an SF classic and skating at Yerba Buena Gardens.
- Car Wash #2 – Sunday School parents helped raise nearly $400.
- Rick Recht Concert – Backstage access, front-row seats, a poetry reading, and a sleepover made for a blockbuster!
- Mo'adon Clean-Up – An afternoon of painting, cleaning, reorganizing, chilling and food was – unsurprisingly – very fun.
- Labor Day Parade – Helping to represent our synagogue in our town's parade preceded a picnic and concert in the park to kick off the year.
- Purim Carnival – USY set up and ran most of the booths at the community carnival for toddlers through preteens.
- Marin Crop Walk – USYers marched with members of their congregation, young and old. They carried picket signs, alerting the public about hunger and lack of clean water the world over.
