Direct Billing:
Benefits

  1. Financial Convenience
Direct Billing provides members with the convenience of paying all of their dues to the synagogue with credit card or check at one time, including USY and Kadima dues.
  2. Increased Financial Support for the Chapter
More membership dues within the chapter provide much greater resources to help the chapter with funding. This has a trickle down effect with regional and International USY and Kadima as well.
  3. More Youth Group Members
Currently, around 20% of Conservative Youth are members of Kadima and USY. It has been estimated that Direct Billing would triple membership.
  4. Quantity vs. Quality
Direct Billing takes the focus off membership numbers and on membership programming. By beginning the year with an already significant membership base, the chapter can concentrate their efforts on making programming innovative and exciting, and building a strong and active membership.
  5. Accessibility
It is much easier to be active in an organization when you are already a member! Besides the fact that many chapters have discounted member rates for their programs, it is much easier to pay for individual programs than the individual programs plus membership. By being a member from the beginning, it is easier to feel like you belong in Kadima or USY. You are already a member!
  6. Awareness
With the implementation of Direct Billing, it is much easier to encourage members to become active within the chapter. Since the high schooler is already a member, the choice is not whether or not to join USY, but rather what level to become active. Also, many parents don't think about having their children join USY. Often, if parents know that their children are members of USY or Kadima, they will want to get their money's worth for the membership by encouraging their children to become active.
