• January 14th, 1964
  United Arab Summit in Cairo establish Unified Military Commando to prepare for war against Israel.
• May 28, 1964
  The Palestinian Liberation Organization (PLO) is established.
• National Water Carrier completed, bringing water from Lake Kinneret in the North to the semiarid south.
• December 22, 1964
  The 12th Government of Israel goes into effect.
• Pope Paul VI visits Israel.
• The Nature Reserves Authority is founded.
• Israeli Notes to the Security Council following the second Arab summit conference.
• Yitzhak Rabin is chosen as Chief of General Staff.
