Game Night: Who Wants To Be A Chalutz?
A takeoff of the popular TV show "Who Wants to be a Millionaire", this exciting game will test your
knowledge about Israel!
How to play:
This game can work as a great chapter or regional event, particularly in a smaller group setting. In the
game, one person will become the contestant and will have to go through 14 levels of questions (or as many
levels as you choose), receiving fake Shekalim (Israeli money) for each question answered correctly,
before they can become an Israeli millionaire!
At each level, the contestant is asked a question about Israel and must answer the question correctly
to move on. For extra help, the contestant will have 3 "lifelines" to be used during the game. The
lifelines are:
- "Phone a Friend", in which the contestant may ask somebody in the audience for the answer
- "Ask the Audience," where the answers are read off and the contestant must choose the answer voted
most popular by audience applause
- "50/50," in which two of the four answers are deleted, and the contestant must choose between the
right answer and one wrong answer (therefore having a 50-50 chance of getting it right).
Each may be used once per contestant. The contestant will continue, answering one question at each
level, until he/she misses a question and will be done playing. Since it will probably be difficult to
reach the millionaire level, have some sort of prize that goes with each level, so every contestant can
win something that relates to Israel! After one player is done, a new contestant can step up and take a
turn!
Prize suggestions (from lower to higher level prizes):
- A piece or bag of Israeli candy, or a key chain from Israel
- A fun Israeli t-shirt (Coca-cola, Hard rock café, Tzahal, etc)
- Automatic free membership to HeChalutzim
- A mix CD of great Israeli music (can be provided by CHUSY region)
Fast Fingers:
Make Poster boards with Velcro-able foam letters (perfect for Shabbat!). Pick a category and have wannabe
contestants put answers in the right order with the foam-Velcro letters on the poster board. Whoever has
the fastest fingers gets to compete as the contestant.
Sample Categories:
Cities North to South, Israeli Wars (Give names not dates...), Prime Ministers, Hebrew Letters, etc.
Questions:
Below, you will find 4 rounds of this game (enough questions for 4 contestants to go through all of the
levels. Feel free to modify the game depending on who will be playing and how much they know about Israel.
