1959 - Israel's Agriculture Comes of Age
Despite its modest beginnings, Israeli agriculture is today among the most advanced in the world. Israel's produce competes successfully in the international marketplace and its exports of irrigation equipment, farm machinery and agricultural technology are in high demand.

For years Israeli scientists and farmers have been helping developing countries expand their agricultural production. In this context, 38 countries partcipated in the first international agricultural exhibit at the Institute for Agricultural Research in Beit Dagan in April 1959.
