mountain range. Additional smaller regional resources are located in the Upper Galilee, Western
Galilee, Beit Shean Valley, Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea Rift, the Negev and the Arava.
HAVE YOU HEARD...
...that Israel is one of the few countries in the world to design, build, launch and operate its
own satellites? AMOS, the first commercial telecommunications satellite, was designed and
manufactured by Israel Aircraft Industries Ltd and was successfully launched in 1996 to provide
domestic services for television, radio, and data transmission.
