Random Israel Facts

DID YOU KNOW...
...that the glue on the back of an Israeli postage stamp is certified kosher? However, this does not mean that the glue on the back of American or Canadian stamps is necessarily unkosher.

WERE YOU AWARE...
...that about 80% of Israel's water potential is in the north of the and only 20% in the south? Israel's main freshwater resources are: Lake Kinneret, the Coastal Aquifer - along the coastal plain of the Mediterranean Sea, and the Mountain Aquifer - under the central north-south (Carmel) mountain range. Additional smaller regional resources are located in the Upper Galilee, Western Galilee, Beit Shean Valley, Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea Rift, the Negev and the Arava.

HAVE YOU HEARD...
...that Israel is one of the few countries in the world to design, build, launch and operate its own satellites? AMOS, the first commercial telecommunications satellite, was designed and manufactured by Israel Aircraft Industries Ltd and was successfully launched in 1996 to provide domestic services for television, radio, and data transmission.
