of 22,556 road accidents involving casualties. A total of 44,848 people were injured in these
accidents, including 3,068 seriously injured and 476 killed. This represents an 11% decline in
accidents and a 9% decline in casualties compared to 1998.

...that Israel has a Kibbutz Orchestra that was established in 1970 and consists of 40 musicians?
The Kibbutz Orchestra performs over one hundred concerts a year, including a concert series for
subscribers, youth concerts, the bi-annual Musica Sacra Festival in Nazareth and regular
appearances with the kibbutz choirs and well-known choirs from abroad. The Kibbutz Orchestra also
performs fully staged operas with singers from Israel and abroad and hosts famous foreign
conductors and soloists.

...about Israel Sar-El volunteer program? The Sar-el program in Israel combines volunteer service
to the country with army service in a short span of three weeks. It was started in 1982 in
response to increasing numbers of rotting crops caused by the drafting of farmers into the
reserves. That year 650 volunteers began their service to the country working in agriculture.
Currently, the focus for volunteers is at army bases, with such tasks as supply packaging. A
total of 88,000 participants have volunteered since the start of the program.
