List Archives
The Listserver archives all messages sent over the lists. You can find easy access to the archives of all the public listserves from here.
Note that in order to view the archives of a list hosted at USCJ, you must
be a subscriber of that list. Also, you have to set up an "archive password"
before you can view any of the archives. The reason you have to do this
is simple: to stop "spambots" (computers that crawl the web and search for
e-mail addresses to send loads of spam email to) from harvesting all the
members' email addresses and sending them spam, a password is required -
spambots can't get past a password screen. Setting up a password is as simple
as just typing in your email and what you want your password to be, and
confirming the password through email. You can then save your password on
your computer as a cookie and don't have to type it again; but if you need
to use it again and forgot what it is you can easily change your password.
For archives that are not hosted by USCJ (ex: Hechalutzim) you simply have to be a member of the listserv to view the archives.
The archives provide easy access to all e-mails sent over any list since its creation, a screen where you can subscribe, unsubscribe, or edit your options, a way to post to the list right from your web browser, and much more.
