Yeehaw! Bus H headed to Amarillo, TX this morning! They woke up super refreshed and ready for their day. After eating breakfast and making lunches, the group headed to the Route 66 Museum and then channeled their inner adventurous selves for the Amarillo Jeep Tours. They got to experience Texas’ beautiful scenery and cliffs while sitting back in the comfortable Jeeps! Later in the evening, the group had a fun evening program where they made funny skits about various funny tour guides that they’ve met on the road mixed with celebrities. It was a lot of fun!
Today, Bus H continued on in their Oklahoma City journey, which included a service project called Horse Feathers. This organization strives to provide a more positive alternative for abandoned horses and to provide medical care for them as needed. The group learned a lot and had a wonderful time with one of the most beautiful animals. Later, the group had an evening activity that would determine what their group t-shirt would look like at the end of the summer. They also made music videos in groups to present to everyone else. It was a wonderful day indeed!

This morning, Bus H davened shacharit together and continued their learning of the Amidah brachot. Then, they had a wonderful time participating in a study session with Rabbi Dave Levy, USCJ’s Director of Teen Learning. After that, the group headed to Oklahoma City and toured the Oklahoma City National Memorial & Museum. The museum tells the story of the events that occurred as a result of the OKC bombing in 1995. It was a very meaningful experience for the Wheelniks. Then in the evening, the group settled in and welcomed Shabbat together. Shabbat Shalom!

Happy Wednesday from Bus H! This morning, the group continued their learning of the Amidah brachot and then ate breakfast, made lunches, loaded the bus, and hit the road! The destination today was to an organization called Search. Their goal is to support the homeless in Houston. The employees spoke to our Wheelniks about homelessness, techniques to help raise money, and the effect that donations such as extra toiletries has on these people. The group was so inspired, they each made bagged lunches to give to the homeless. This was definitely an unforgettable experience for everyone. Later on, Bus H was headed to Splash Town Water Park to have some fun! The fun didn’t stop there though; next stop was ice skating at the Galleria Mall. Then, the group went back to their host shul for an amazing dinner and sichot session. What an awesome day for the group!

It was a wonderful Tuesday for Bus H! In the morning, since it was Tisha B’Av, the group continued learning about this important day after davening shacharit. Later on, they were headed to NASA! It was definitely a highlight of their day because they really enjoyed learning about the history of our space program. In the evening, they ate a delicious dinner at their host shul and then they went back to their host homes for the rest of the evening. The group is very excited to continue their Texas adventures!

The group began their day davening shacharit, eating breakfast, and making lunches. Then, Bus H did a community service project with Youth Rebuilding New Orleans, where they helped rebuild homes by cleaning in and around the houses. In the evening, the group learned about Tisha B’Av because it began this evening. It’s the time to mourn and remember the destruction of the First and Second Temples in Jerusalem. They each read eicha together and it was definitely a moving experience.
