Bus A started off the day with an activity during Shacharit ranking the mitzvot and how they relate to the Amidah. The group spent the morning at the Strategic Air and Space Museum and had a blast staying cool in the sun at the Wild Water West Water Park. The group is ready to spend tomorrow making their way through South Dakota to some distinctly American attractions!

Bus A woke up refreshed and ready for their day. They had a creative Shacharit service revolving around sports and how they compare some prayers to certain sports. Later that day, they went to the Omaha Zoo and took lots of pictures with the monkeys, giraffes, and lemurs. Then,  after an amazingly delicious dinner, they kept up with their sports themed morning and headed to the ballpark to cheer on the Omaha Storm Chasers.

Later on in the evening, the group went back to their host Shul, played yard game,s and met some of the Shul’s  very own USY chapter members. Finally, the group went back to their host homes to rest up for another busy and exciting day.

The First Shabbat

The first Shabbat as a group was spent in Chicago. After an exciting, fun, and busy week, Bus A finally had a chance to relax, bond, and enjoy Shabbat.  Saturdays on wheels are spent having Shabbat services and then dividing into sichot, learning sessions spent with staff members on a variety of topics, free time, and Havdallah. The group also received an explanation of the travel size Torah they will be traveling with this summer. They concluded Shabbat with a bonding program and look forward to the week ahead.

After a morning of breakfast, shacharit, and learning about why we pray, Bus A was off to Rochester for a day of fun at Big Don’s mini golf and then a water splash maze. The group’s evening program was focused on empowerment. The kids made a list of all the things they have the power to do and then turned it into a song or rap to perform for the rest of the group. The groups then went back to their host homes for the night and are looking forward to seeing Cleveland tomorrow.
