After a wonderful Shabbat in SanFransisco, the group is officially headed to Los Angeles! In the morning before making lunches and eating breakfast, the group davened shacharit and continued their learning of Amidah blessings in addition to learning a bit about Tisha B’Av. Then while on the road, they had the amazing opportunity to tour Google headquarters. So cool! Then, they headed to Ghirardelli Square and Fisherman’s Wharf. In the evening, the group continued their long drive and are all excited for the week ahead.

This morning after shacharit, the group learned a song that they were looking forward to singing to welcome Shabbat. On their way to San Fransisco, the group toured the amazing Jelly Belly Factory. They were able to taste and purchase the awesome array of flavors from popcorn to strawberry. Then, they all went Shabbat shopping and settled into their hotel for a relaxing and fun weekend. Shabbat Shalom!

Happy Free Slurpee Day! The group took full advantage of this not so official holiday by stopping at 711 for their slurpees during their drive from Salt Lake City to Reno. But first, in the morning, they davened shacharit together at the salt flats. Amazing! In the evening, the group took a fun trip to the movies where they had the choice to see World War Z, Monsters University, or Despicable Me 2. Awesome day for Bus A!

July 10, 2013

This morning, Bus A davened shacharit together and continued their learning of the Amidah blessings. Then, they continued their day by going to Olympic Park and later the Mormon Temple. After that, the group participated in an activity called “The Five Dollar Food Challenge”, where they break up into groups and try to create a well balanced meal with only five dollars. It is supposed to represent the struggle people who live below the poverty line experience. In the end, the group donates all of the food to a local food shelter. The kids really enjoyed this activity and learned a lot from it! In the evening, they had some fun with a sing off activity!

Bus A’s day began with a beautiful shacharit service overlooking a lake. They each went on their own to pray and really take in the amazing scenery. Later on, they toured the Idaho Potato Museum and had a lot of fun there. In the evening, the group had different options of activities to participate in: swimming, workout session, eicha learning, or board and card games. It was a perfect way to end this awesome day!

This morning, Bus A had the pleasure of waking up one last time to the beautiful Yellowstone National Park. They then davened shacharit together and learned a little bit about Rosh Chodesh,a New Month. After that, they spent the afternoon visiting Old Faithful, Artist Point, and the Canyons in Yellowstone. Then, they broke up into sichot and ate a delicious dinner. Their evening program was a group bonding activity where they read stories about togetherness and the joy of being part of a group. On top of an already amazing day and night, they concluded the evening by stargazing and being amazed at the nature that surrounded them.

July 4, 2013

Independence Day was a busy day for Bus A. The group had a blast looking for souvenirs, picking out homemade ice cream, and drinking lots of free ice water as they were making their way through South Dakota in Wall Drug. The group also saw the Corn Palace, the Badlands, and, of course, one of the most recognizable landmarks in the country: Mt. Rushmore. It wouldn’t be July 4th without fireworks, which the group got to enjoy at night.
