Group 2 continued with Gadna today. After the morning inspection and parade, they participated in many more army-related lessons. They are having a great time learning about different aspects of Israeli life, especially the army. They have learned how to rise to the challenge and with every day that passes, they improve in doing their exercises. Everyone is enjoying themselves immensely! The group will be spending their last night on base before heading out tomorrow to Ha’event. And, of course, they are all very excited for this big day!!

The group woke up after an amazing night spent under the stars and began their morning with a hike in Mitzpe Ramon, before their journey to Tel Aviv. Once in Tel Aviv, they visited Kikar Rabin, the site of Yitzchak Rabin’s final hours as he went to a peace rally and was then assassinated. From there, they headed to the Olympic Museum, where they learned about the Olympic Games and the Israeli’s participation in them over the years. This evening they will enjoy some free time and practice for Ha’event which is happening TOMORROW!!
After giving their thanks and saying goodbye to their host homes, it was time to say goodbye Seattle and hello Vancouver! They went to the beautiful Meadowdale Beach Park and then a tour of the Boeing Factory. Pretty awesome! Later on, they crossed the border and had a fun Israel program to celebrate! Then, they were off to their host homes for the rest of the evening to get ready for a fun filled day tomorrow.
Bus E began their day by davening at Niagra Falls. Pretty amazing! Then, they went to Maid of the Mist and had so much fun taking pictures and taking in the beauty. Later on, they ate lunch at Falls Park and then headed to their host shul. In the evening, they had a fun program with the chapter members of that synagogue.
It was a fabulous day for Mission Mitzvah 2013. In the morning, they davened shacharit together and learned more blessings of the Amidah. On their way from Atlanta to Alabama, the group stopped at a grocery store for a $5 food shopping challenge. The goal is to create a well balanced meal on a very tight budget. It was an eye opening and important lesson for the kids. After that, they davened mincha at a synagogue in Anniston and continued on to do laundry all by themselves! In the evening, they celebrated their great day by having a fun pool party!

Bus A’s day began with a beautiful shacharit service overlooking a lake. They each went on their own to pray and really take in the amazing scenery. Later on, they toured the Idaho Potato Museum and had a lot of fun there. In the evening, the group had different options of activities to participate in: swimming, workout session, eicha learning, or board and card games. It was a perfect way to end this awesome day!
Bus B began their day with a shacharit service that allowed their creative juices to flow. They made art projects to demonstrate the Ashrei and shared their projects with the rest of the group later on during mincha. Through their travel from Amarillo to Albuquerque, they stopped at Cadillac Ranch, an awesome site on Route 66 where old Cadillac’s are buried into the ground and covered in decades worth of spray paint. The wheelniks had to opportunity to make their mark on the cars as well. When they reached Albuquerque, they spent time at Old Town Albuquerque to shop around and take pictures. In the evening, they went to the Hinkle Family Fun Center. The name really describes the place well because it’s filled endless activities for the kids to participate in. What an awesome day for Bus B!
