July 18, 2013

The group began their morning at the Independence Hall in Tel Aviv, where the first Prime Minister of Israel, David Ben Gurion, pronounced the Israel’s independence in 1948. They then made their way south, to Shvil Hasalat, a “High Tech” agriculture farm  where they picked vegetables in a greenhouse and learned about agriculture in the desert. They headed to Mizpe Ramon next  for some fun mountain repelling before making their way to set up their camps for their Desert Experience. The group will be spending their night in the beautiful nature enjoying a night of navigation and survival experiences.

The group began their morning with a pleasant hike down Mt. Arbel, followed by a most memorable meal at Blue Beach Restaurant. They then enjoyed a refreshing swim in the beautiful Kinneret before heading to  Kfar Kedem for some fun donkey-riding. In the evening they went to Kibbutz Hannaton for a fantastic BBQ and swim shared  with Groups 5 and 6.

July 16, 2013

It was another fun and exciting day in Los Angeles for Bus A! They first davened shacharit together and then hit the road for some exciting sites. They went to Beit T’Shuva and then the Museum of Tolerance a little later. After that, the group hit the famous Hollywood Boulevard for some free time and then drove  through Rodeo Drive so the Wheelniks could snap quick photos. They concluded this awesome day by eating a delicious pizza dinner and hanging out at the Santa Monica Pier.

Today was filled with one of the wonderful things LA has to offer-Universal Studios! They enjoyed all the rides, the sites, the photo opportunities, and California sun! This evening, the group got together for a more serious night. It was the beginning of Tisha B’Av so they talked a little about this important day in Judaism and then read eicha. Finally, they called it a night and got some sleep before an exciting day tomorrow!

July 16, 2013

Happy Tuesday from Bus PNW! They began their day with shacharit and then participating in learning session with Rabbi Jim Rogozin.  Then they broke into groups for another learning session called sichot, led by their staff. The rest of the day was spent off the ship and on an awesome excursion! Finally, the group ate a delicious dinner and then headed back to their rooms to get some sleep before another amazing Alaskan day.

The group woke up full of excitement to start their first full day cruising. In the morning, they ate breakfast and davened shacharit together. Then, they during the day, they had a Sports Court Challenge! A little later on, the Wheelniks went back to their rooms for some personal preparation for Tisha B’Av to begin. Then they all got together to read eicha and learn about this important day in Judaism.

Then, they hit the road for some exciting sites. They went to Beit T’Shuva and then the Museum of Tolerance a little later. After that, the group hit the famous Hollywood Boulevard for some free time. They concluded this awesome day by eating a delicious pizza dinner and hanging out at the Santa Monica Pier.
