Summer 2012

Bus A had a very “spooky” day in Salem, Massachusets. They visited the Witch Dungeon Museum, bonding together over the fun frights that were on display. From there, they went to the Pirate museum where they saw real pirate’s treasures! A long drive followed to Syracuse, New York for dinner, more ice-breaking, and a return to host homes where they all are getting a well earned night’s rest!

Bus C started of their day with a beautiful morning prayer and an even more beautiful lookout point in Pittsburgh at Mount Washington. From there, they traveled to Cleveland where, at the world’s largest stamp, they had va’ad meetings and ate a scrumptious lunch. Afterward, they learned about music history and broke some more ice at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. They finished their day playing a rousing game of whirlyball and spent the night at their host homes!

Group 4 has finally arrived in Israel! Upon arrival they participated in a sunrise Shaharit overlooking the Old City, took a nap, ate lunch, got their cellphones and money, went to the supermarket and embarked on a walking tour of Jerusalem! They saw Gan Ha’atzmaut, the president’s house, the Prime Minister’s house, as well as the protest tents outside of the house, in order to learn about the various political situations going on in Israel. A significant difference this year is that the Gilad Shalit tent was not pitched! Then they had dinner and did an evening of separate boy’s and girl’s programming, followed by an early bed time so that tomorrow they can have a great start to their day!
