Living in Israel

Nativ Classic

Jerusalem

While in Jerusalem, the Nativ group is housed in the Fuchsberg Center for Conservative Judaism on Agron Street. All the rooms have high speed Internet connections as well as private bathrooms, and on most floors there is a kitchenette for cooking small meals. There is a Beit Knesset (synagogue), a Moadon (lounge) with TV, VCR, cable TV, and a microwave. The building is beautiful and new, with the latest in Israeli dormitory facilities.

The Fuchsberg Center is located in Rechavia, one of Jerusalem's most well-known neighborhoods, and is just a 10 minute walk from Rehov Emek Refaim, 2 minutes from Rehov Aza, and a 15 minute walk from the Old City of Jerusalem.

Kibbutz

Nativers choosing the Kibbutz option live in dorms on Kibbutz that are designated for the Nativ group. There are 2-3 Nativers per room, and each room has a bathroom with a shower, a kitchenette with a sink and cupboard.

Kehilla - Community Service

Nativers participating in the Community Service option live in an absorption center with new immigrants who have recently made aliyah to Israel from many different countries. The Nativers live in apartments of 4-6 people, with 2 people in each room. The apartments have a bathroom and shower, along with a kitchen and common area for eating.

Security

The Nativers' safety and security are the staff's number one concern. The Nativ program works in cooperation with the Jewish Agency and the Israeli security authorities to ensure the safety of program participants. Throughout the year, Nativers are expected to abide by the security directives of the Nativ staff at all times in order to assure their well-being.
