About Nativ

Jewish Living

Living in Israel is like no other Jewish experience, in that the society itself is imbued with Jewish life and spirit. Within this inspiring setting, Nativ functions as a dedicated and committed Conservative Jewish community. In the Kehilla Kedosha of Nativ, Jewish learning opportunities abound and Jewish observance is expected. Participation in daily minyan and Shabbat observance are integral parts of the Nativ Jewish living experience. At least once a month, Nativ will hold a group Shabbat where the entire group enjoys meals, services, and programming together.

Leadership Training

Nativ prides itself on being a top notch leadership training program. Hadracha (leadership) seminars take place throughout the year in order to cultivate effective Jewish leaders who will share their enthusiasm and expeience upon their return to their home communities and college campuses. Through interaction and innovative activities, Nativers work towards their potential as Jewish leaders and educators. Nativers both lead and participate in programs throughout the year in order to enrich their leadership experience and enable them to gain the skills necessary for success.

Exploring Israel

Throughout the year, an emphasis is placed on learning the historical relevance and Jewish significance of various locations in Israel. One of the objectives of the program is for the participants to return from their year on Nativ with a deep understanding and knowledge of the depth and breadth of the land of Israel. In addition to many day trips throughout Israel, Nativers participate in three major tiyulim (trips). They explore the Galilee, Golan Heights, Bet Shean Valley, Carmel and Sharon; the Judean desert; and the Negev, including a visit to Eilat. Special experiences may include: canoeing on the Jordan River, hiking, rappelling, a nature survival seminar, and more.
