Dear ECRUSY Leaders,

LTI is open to Chapter Executive members, members of the RGB and the Regional Executive.

This 4-day experience focuses on leadership skills, programming, preparing for the upcoming year, learning about how to grow within the organization, and working with peers and staff. And of course, there will be plenty of time to hang with new and old USY friends!

If you will be a leader in USY, this is one program that is most definitly not to be missed!!

USY International Convention 2008, in Washington DC, will be held December 21-28. We're proud to announce that Ezra Moses, our immediate ECRUSY past-president is one of the co-chairs for this event, and we know, with Ezra at the helm it is sure to be amazing!

Due to airline cutbacks, USY is offering a pre-registration with a $300 USD deposit before Sept. 12th. All fees are fully refundable until October 10th. Deposits must be made by cheque in USD. More information, including details and full costs will be available in early September.

As you know so well, for the past seven years, the residents of Sderot, just a kilometre from Gaza, have been living under an almost daily barrage of Qassam rockets, causing death, destruction, injury and a constant climate of fear. Since the rocket attacks began, over 6,000 Quassams have struck Sderot and surrounding region. This past Shabbos, a rocket injured two brothers. One of them, an eight year old, lost a leg.

We cannot let the men, women and children of Sderot face this struggle alone.

On Monday February 25 at 7:30 p.m. at the Sheraton Centre, 123 Queen St. W. , UJA Federation, in cooperation with our community organizations, will Rally for Sderot. The evening will feature celebrated Harvard Professor Alan Dershowitz as our keynote speaker and a live satellite broadcast from the beleaguered city.

It would be very much appiciated if you could spare some of your time to advocate for the people of Sderot. There is more information in the upcoming events section.
