Today Bus A headed off to the great state of Texas! On the way to their destination the group stopped at the Cadillac Ranch, a stop on the side of the road with old Cadillac cars jutting up from the ground which people who pass by frequently sign or spray-paint. After adding their names and some of their own designs the group continued on to their destination. When they arrive, Bus A will visit the Elkins Ranch in the Palo Duro canyon, America’s second largest canyon. While in the canyon the group will take a Jeep tour, a truly amazing experience! In the evening the wheelniks will check out a performance of the Texas Legacy show which included fireworks, horses and cowboys and told the history of the Lone Star State.

Today Bus C drove to Oklahoma City.When they got into Oklahoma City, the group visited the Oklahoma City bombing memorial. There they saw the incredible memorial that is dedicated to all those who lost their lives on April 19, 1995, at the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building. They will follow this with dinner and an Oklahoma City Redhawks game, the local minor league affiliate of the Houston  Astros.

Bus B began their day with their usual “Thankful Things Thursday.” Before services began, there was an optional walk to “Artist’s Point,” a lookout over Yellowstone. The views were beautiful. From there, they did a driving tour of all the hot spots of Yellowstone: Mammoth Hot Springs, Old Faithful, Grand Canyon of Yellowstone, and the General Store. Later in the day, the group will end their eventful day with Sihot and a group activity!

Bus H had a great West Coast day! They began with an inspirational Shaharit at their host Shul in San Diego. From there, the group headed to the San Diego Zoo, one of the top-rated zoos in  the country to see some furry friends. After this, the group will participate in the exciting, “are you smarter than a Usyer?” program. To end their day, the group will work on Tefillah goals/Eicha readings in preparation for Tisha B’av.

Group 2 started their morning at Tel Maresha for an awesome archeological dig! They also engaged in an interesting dialogue about Israel’s history. Then they went spelunking, which is the exploration of caves, in ancient tunnels. They arrived at Kibbutz Beit Guvrin, ate lunch and went swimming. After, they made their way back to base for dinner and free time.

The group spent their day learning about Mitzvah and Tikun Olam work with mitzvah hero, Danny Siegel. They began their day at CLICK and enjoyed doing arts and crafts projects with the elderly. After lunch back at the base, they heard from a speaker who started a tikun olam project for Israelis traveling to India. In the evening, after dinner, they got to hear from Neil Lazarus, who talked to everyone about the current Arab-Israeli conflict followed by some free time.

Group 8 started their day with an overlook of Lebanon in Metulla. There, they got to discuss the borders of Lebanon and what occurred during the Lebanon war. Then they had a pleasant and fun hike in the Banias, which was full of greenery and waterfalls. They ate a delicious pizza lunch and had a blast kayaking in the Jordan River! Then they went shopping at the famous Naot factory at Kibbutz Naot Mordechai where they had fun trying on and purchasing sandals. In the evening they had the opportunity to shop, eat and walk around in Tveria.
