Bus C was really looking forward to today’s activities after completing an exciting Israel evening program last night. Starting off the day, the group headed off to CNN to take the famous shot in front of the big block letters. Afterward, Bus B excitingly relived the 1996 Olympic games at Centennial Park and its Fountain of Rings where they saw an awesome water show. To quench their thirst from all their walking, the Wheelniks then stopped at the Coca-Cola headquarters where they received an awesome tour and most importantly, free samples! Finally, an already great day was capped off with an Atlanta Braves baseball game, relaxing and watching America’s past time.

Bus B got their day started on the right foot with the entertaining Amidah Cha-Cha slide during Shaharit. From there, the group enjoyed the performers and acts of the Circus World in Chicago, where they enjoyed, not only the circus, but also the magic shows. Later in the day, Bus B walked around Chicago, had a scrumptious dinner at kosher landmark, Ken’s Diner, and visited with the Israeli Scouts!

Group 8 started their day at the City of David to learn about the First Temple period. The highlight was walking through Hezekayah’s Tunnel, a water aqueduct that brought water to the city during the time of King Hezekayah (700 BCE). They had a wonderful time splashing in the water! Then they walked to the Old City for some free time filled with food and shopping. In the afternoon they planted trees in the JNF forest. Each USYer dedicated their tree to someone special in their lives. From there, they headed back to base to discussed the opportunities available to everyone during their gap year with USY’s Nativ year long program. They also played some drama games which gave the group a chance to reflect on their summer journey in a fun and active way, followed by the talent show which everyone had the opportunity to participate in!

Today, Bus B headed eastward, toward Madison, Wisconsin. Their first stop was the Wisconsin Duck Tours. On the boat, they traveled on the Wisconsin River, seeing the beautiful sandstone bluffs while trying to stay dry. In keeping with that theme, the group visited a local water park, where they slid, splashed, and swam their way through the afternoon. The group will end their day at Camp Chi with a yummy dinner, campfire, and fun evening program.

Bus H thoroughly enjoyed their last day in Los Angeles. After having an entertaining end-of-the-summer talent show last night, the group finished up their volunteering by helping out at local Shul. From there, the group had lunch and a Siha on the Mitzvah of friendship at their staff, Sarah Tudzin’s house. They were very thankful to her and her family for opening up their home. They will finish off their summer with a final banquet tonight, where many wonderful memories and stories will be told.
