Today Bus A spent the day in the nation’s capitol. In D.C. the group began the day at the Newseum, a fun and interactive museum about the news industry. Afterward, Bus A visited the National Holocaust Museum and took in the powerful exhibits inside. Later the group took a monument tour in and around the historic National Mall. To end the night, the group will be having a yummy dinner and pool party at their host synagogue!

Bus B had a wonderful day in Ohio today! Once in Cleveland, Bus B stopped by the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Inside they saw relics from Rock and Roll’s greats including Elvis, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones and Bruce Springsteen. After rocking out to some classic tunes, the group went to a kosher Subway restaurant for a delicious lunch. On their way to Harrisburg, the group stopped at an Alpaca farm, where they got to get up close and pet these wonderful creatures!

Today, Bus C spent the day in DC. In D.C. the group began the day by visiting the National Mall. Later the group explored the Smithsonian museums including the famous Air and Space Museum, the National Gallery of Art and the Natural History Museum. Afterwards, Bus C visited the National Holocaust Museum and took in the powerful exhibits inside. The group then worked on their signing boards and wrote messages to one another for the end of the summer. In the evening they had a kosher Chinese food dinner before heading out for a fun evening of miniature golf!

Today, Bus A moved slightly northward, as they neared the last week of their trip. The had a long drive from the Carolinas up to Virginia. On the bus, the Wheelniks thoroughly enjoyed the bonding time with their best friends that they’ve made this summer. Once in Virginia, the group did some Shabbat shopping for their “Pillow Pet” themed Shabbat. The group cannot wait to relax, pray, sing, and eat during a meaningful last Shabbat together!

Bus C had a lovely day while getting ready for Shabbat in the South. They began by learning more about the Amidah during Shaharit. Later, on their drive to North Carolina, they stopped at Abbott’s Peach Farm, to taste some scrumptious fruit. To cap off their day, they went for their last Shabbat shopping to prepare for their “Under the C” Shabbat. The Wheelniks look forward to being with their friends before spending a meaningful last Shabbat together.

Before their last Shabbat together, Bus B visited the Windy City! Today, Bus B visited the Ark food pantry where they donated some of their extra snacks and food which will later be given to the hungry throughout Chicago. Afterwards the group had free time at Navy Pier, checked out the area and its shops, and to hung out on Lake Michigan. Finished there, the group did some Shabbat shopping to get gifts for their friends before spending a meaningful last Shabbat together.

Group 8 woke up this morning and spent the day going to shuk Machane Yehuda and Ben Yehuda street one final time before packing and preparing for their final Shabbat together. They will pray this evening at Yemin Moshe overlooking the walls of the old city. Tomorrow they will go to different synagogue in the area close to the Fuchsberg center. Motzai shabbat they will have their final banquet dinner and will come together to share memories of everything they have done and accomplished on their incredible journey this past summer. At the end of their night they will load the buses and head to the airport. We know that group 8 had an amazing summer and look forward to returning to Israel again soon!
