Group 3 started their day volunteering at an ecological farm. They learned about agricultural techniques and about various Israeli landscapes. Then they enjoyed their time splashing around in the pool at Mesilat Zion. After returning to base in Jerusalem, they enjoyed a delicious BBQ dinner and an evening with Neil Lazarus who talked to everyone about the Arab-Israeli conflict. They ended their evening with some final Haevent practice before the big day tomorrow!

Group 2 continued Gadna today. After the morning inspection and parade, the group went on a hike, learned about field cooking and prepared for target practice. They are having a great time learning about different aspects of Israeli life, especially the army. They have learned how to rise to the challenge and with every day that passes, they improve in doing their exercises. Everyone is enjoying themselves immensely!

Group 1 left the desert and the Bedouin tent this morning and headed to Tel Aviv! They visited Independence Hall, where David Ben Gurion declared Israel an independent country. They ate lunch and went to Kikar Rabin, the site of Yitzchak Rabin’s final hours, as he went to a peace rally and was then assassinated. From there, they headed to the Olympic museum. This evening they will head to Old Yaffo for an overlook of the sea, enjoy some free time, eat dinner and head to the base to do some final Haevent practice before the big day tomorrow!

Today Bus E got up early for what is one of the most fun days on Wheels: Disney Day! Bus E had a fantastic day with Mickey and Co. as they rode the rides and experienced all the fun in the Magic Kingdom. After a long day the group will return to their home hospitality hosts for the evening.

This morning Bus C finished up their time in Washington. In the morning the group toured underground Seattle where they viewed some of the original city. Next the group visited an alpaca farm where they learned about these interesting animals.  The group will finish the day with a visit to Powell’s Bookstore, the largest “new and used” bookstore in the world. There the Wheelniks will be able to browse the shelves for an interesting read (of which there are a great many) and pick up some books for the rest of their bus rides this summer.

Today Bus A spent the day in Salt Lake City. In the morning they toured the Salt Lake Olympic Oval and learned about the winter games that were held in the city. The Wheelniks had a tour of the practice facility and the museum and had a chance to take a chairlift up one of the mountains. Later, Bus A came back to their hotel to play the Newlywed Game! It was a great, relaxing, social activity and the Wheelniks got to know each other even better!

Today Bus B made their way to Albuquerque, NM. On the way to their destination the group stopped at the Cadillac Ranch, a stop on the side of the road with old Cadillac cars jutting up from the ground which people who pass by frequently sign or spray-paint. After adding their names and some of their own designs the group continued on to their destination. When they arrived, the Wheelniks had time to explore the shops and area of Old Town Albuquerque. The group will later go to a local synagogue for Minha, Sihot and dinner. In the evening they will head to the Hinkle Family Fun Center where they will ride go-carts and bumper cars and play mini golf and arcade games.
