Group 3 began their morning at Kikar Rabin, the site of Yitzchak Rabin’s final hours, as he went to a peace rally and was then assassinated. There they learned about Yitzhak Rabin’s life and all of his accomplishments. Their next stop was shuk HaCarmel where they had free time to shop and walk around. From there they went to Nachalat Binyamin, the artists’ fair, in Tel Aviv and to Independence Hall, where David Ben Gurion declared Israel an independent country. They had lunch and a tour of the Olympic museum where they heard stories about the Olympic winners from Israel and their achievements. In the evening they drove to their base for the evening to have free time.

Group 8 left Arad this morning and headed to Tel Maresha for an awesome archeological dig! Someone even found a bowl from hundreds of years ago still fully intact! They also engaged in an interesting dialogue about Israel’s history. Then they went spelunking, which is the exploration of caves, in ancient tunnels. They arrived at Beit Guvrin, ate lunch and went swimming. After, they made their way back to Jerusalem where they had some time to rest and have a BBQ dinner before going to the lapid event. This event takes place in Modiin, organized by the Jewish Agency. Together with 1500 youth from Israel and the Jewish communities around the world,  they celebrated the 152nd anniversary of Herzl and enjoyed a performance by various Israeli musicians and dancers such as Tararam. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the evening.

Group 2 started their morning at Independence Hall, where David Ben Gurion declared Israel an independent country. Then they drove south and stopped at Kibbutz Saad. They swam in the pool, got to ride a tractor and went on a tour of the kibbutz. Their next stop was Mitzpe Ramon where they got to go rappelling down the side of a mountain; everyone thoroughly enjoyed the experience! In the evening they started their desert experience. They cooperated with one another to make their own dinner, went on an evening hike and had a pleasant night star gazing program.

The group spent their day learning about Mitzvah and Tikun Olam work with mitzvah hero, Danny Siegel. They began their day at Leket, an organization that donates food to families and food banks around Israel. Everyone had the opportunity to pick tomatoes which will be transported to organizations serving those in need. After having lunch, they went to Sderot to help at a therapeutic center for children at risk. They helped paint the center and clean up the yard. Then they returned to base to have a closing session led by Danny Siegel, who discussed the other mitzvah heroes and other volunteer opportunities in their home communities. In the evening, following dinner, the group headed to the Lapid event. This event takes place in Modiin, organized by the Jewish Agency. This morning Bus C davened a lively Shaharit with Rabbi Dave Levy, the new director of teen learning for USCJ! The group spent most of the day at Universal Studios theme park enjoying all of the movie themed rides, shops and shows. Afterwards the wheelniks had free time and dinner on always entertaining Pico Boulevard. The group then returned to their hotel for an exciting evening program.

This morning Bus A started off their day with a rip-roaring Shaharit service that got everyone in the mood for an awesome day! The group spent most of the day at Universal Studios theme park enjoying all of the movie themed rides, shops and shows. From there, the group headed to Hollywood Boulevard where got a chance to bask in the pop-culture of Los Angeles! Afterwards the Wheelniks will have free time and dinner on the always entertaining Pico Boulevard. The group will then return to their hotel for an exciting evening program

The group spent most of the day at Universal Studios theme park enjoying all of the movie themed rides, shops and shows. From there, the group headed to Hollywood Boulevard where got a chance to bask in the pop-culture of Los Angeles! Afterwards the Wheelniks will have free time and dinner on the always entertaining Pico Boulevard. The group will then return to their hotel for an exciting evening program
