Bus B started off their day with Shaharit k’yaheed, an individual Shaharit service where the Wheelniks had a chance to pray in a beautiful area right on the lakefront outside their hotel. After services, they headed out to the Idaho Potato Museum, where they learned all about Idaho’s greatest export. Following this, Bus B went to Yellowstone Bear World, a drive-thru wild life park to learn about all different types of bears. Later, the group will drive to Yellowstone National Park and enjoy the outdoors for the evening. They will finish with gender bonding programs later!

Today Bus C started their day with Shaharit Charades in an attempt to learn about the various prayers they say daily, in a unique way.  On the way to their destination the group stopped at the Cadillac Ranch, a stop on the side of the road with old Cadillac cars jutting up from the ground which people who pass by frequently sign or spray-paint. After adding their names and some of their own designs the group continued on to their destination. When they arrived, Bus C visited Elkins Ranch in the Palo Duro canyon, America’s second largest canyon. While in the canyon the group took a Jeep tour, a truly amazing experience! In the evening the wheelniks saw a performance of the Texas Legacy show which included fireworks, horses and cowboys and told the history of the Lone Star State.

Bus A had a great Yom Superhero today! Each Wheelnik and staff member channeled their favorite superhero or villain using costume and persona and everyone had a really entertaining time! They then headed off to New Mexico after starting their day in costume. When they arrived, the Wheelniks had time to explore the shops and area of Old Town Albuquerque. The group will later go to a local synagogue for Minha, Sihot and dinner. In the evening they will head to the Hinkle Family Fun Center where they will ride go-carts and bumper cars and play mini golf and arcade games.

Today, Bus H woke up to the beauty of the Grand Canyon before they headed out to Las Vegas. Their first stop was at the St. Jude’s Children’s Ranch, a home for abandoned and abused children. There, the group held an ice-cream party and field games, complete with water balloon games. The kids from the center absolutely had a blast! Later, the group headed to Three Square Food Bank, where they helped pack a large amount of meals. Later in the day, the Wheelniks will head to their home hospitality Shul for dinner and cap of their night with a fun visit to the New York, New York arcade!

Group 8 spent the morning in the Western Galilee; their first stop was at Kibbutz Lavi. They had the opportunity to see how a kibbutz operates and functions. Their next stop was an overlook from the top of the Carmel mountain. This was followed by lunch at the Usafia Druze Village where they were hosted to a kosher and delicious Druze meal, which is one of the food highlights of the summer. They learned more about the Druze religion and the unique rules in the small community. They visited the ancient city of Acco and had the chance to explore a crusader fortress. After, they made their way to Rosh Hanikra where they walked through beautiful grottos that were formed by water hitting the rocks for hundreds of years. In the evening, they returned to the base to enjoy free time and a Social Action and Tikum Olam program.

Group 5 left the north this morning and made their return to Jerusalem to tour the Old City. They began the tour at the Israel museum at the model of the city of Jerusalem from the time of the Second Temple period.  They toured through the remains from the Second Temple period and enjoyed some free time and a tasty lunch at the Jewish quarter. The group then walked to Robinson’s arch and the Southern Wall excavations and ended their day with mincha at the Kotel. They returned to base to enjoy dinner and an evening shiur with Rabbi Paul Freedman followed by a gender bonding program.

Group 2 left the Negev this morning and stopped at Shvil hasalat (The Salad Trail), where they picked delicious produce , at a farm in the western part of the Negev. Later they made their way back to Jerusalem. In the evening, following dinner, they played drama games which gave the group a chance to reflect on their journey in a fun and active way.
